This summer, I have discovered Domaine du Tix, in Mont Ventoux, Provence. Developed from scratch by a couple coming form the clothing industry 13 years ago. This estate proposes an interesting range of white and red wine with a focus on quality, low yields, and manual harvest.
The 8 ha of vineyards are located in Ventoux area, on the “angels hill” above village of Mormoiron.
The white made with 100% Viognier grapes offers fresh notes, very dry.
The Bramefan cuvĂ©e is a 100% Syrah, as they use to do in Northern Rhone Valley. It’s a rich and full bodied wine, with a long finish, and red fruit aromas.
The Dona Maria wine is made with Grenache, and a little bit of Syrah. Tannins are firm, strong structure, with berry and spice aromas. This wine has been tasted by R.Parker with a 91/100. It’s a place you have to visit if you are in the area.
